Présentation
The Gyneco-Obstetrics and Pediatric Hospital of Yaounde (HGOPY) was established by Presidential Decree No. 2001/271 of 24 September 2001 and inaugurated personally by the Head of State on 28 March 2002. Its missions are:
- provide quality gynecological, obstetric and pediatric care;
- to contribute to vocational training;
- offer a field of exploration for medical research in the disciplines mentioned above.
In order to carry out its missions, HGOPY has set up the public-private partnership as a lever that can provide high-level care, inform and sensitize the population, especially women, children and adolescents. To achieve this, the health facility establishes partnerships and benefits from the support of civil society actors, private sector companies and institutional partners.
It is divided into two major groups of exams: non-injection exams and injection exams. HGOPY features a latest generation 16-bar scanner. -> Scanners without injection (do not require preparation) Skeleton Scanner Pelviscanner Thoracic CT Scanner ... etc. Are feasible every working day and emergency 24 hours. -> Scanners with injection (require a preparation) Cerebral Scanner Abdominal Scanner Pelvic Scanner Thoracic Scanner Myeloscanner Arthroscanner Angioscanner ... etc. This preparation is done before the completion of the examination and is according to the case to: Perform an enema evacuator Respect a diet Perform an interrogation in order to know if the patient is diabetic or not; allergic or not to the contrast medium Know the state of renal function Know the need to be fasting or not Prescribe a specific order for each examination, etc ....

Local partnership

HGOPY during 04 days to realize the week of the youth from January 31st to February 3rd, 2017. This demonstration knew the mobilization of 1635 young people educated, primary, secondary and students. The topics were plural, from hand washing to reproductive health, exchanges on early pregnancy, access to adolescence and more. The HGOPY Teen Clinic with the support of community-based associations reached over 100 young people in the first quarter of 2017. Together with the partners we had the opportunity to hold meetings to promote flagship HGOPY projects. We work on the development of innovative financing methods to help the patient. In particular, the third-party payment system to help vulnerable patients, for example the reduction of the cost of the treatment of severe OVC under the HGOPY / CRS-KIDSS convention where the partner supports a flat amount of care . in addition to setting up the Kangaroo method at HGOPY with the support of the Kangaroo Foundation which allows the reduction of the time spent under incubator, we reduce the overall cost of taking care of certain services.
international partnership

HGOPY benefits from the constant support of the Chinese partners. it is materialized by the sending of Chinese Medical Teams, we are at the 18th and Technical Teams we are at the 8th. We benefit from this human resource but also donations of materials and medical inputs. In addition through the public-private partnership on the international side, HGOPY has forged partnerships that manifest itself in the holding of international solidarity campaign in our health facility. They consist with the support of local and international partners of providing the population with high-level care almost free of charge, the real cost being borne by HGOPY, corporate citizens and civil society actors. In 2017, we can list, - 01 campaign Children Action (Swiss Foundation), - 01 campaign ALMOHA (French Association) to operate children with rare diseases by, - Smile Train actions (American NGO) that allowed operate children with cleft lip and palate. We also have German partners from the Evangelical Hospital of Düsseldorf for the Ear Camp Cameroon Campaign which aims to repair hearing-related pathology. We also benefited from an IVUMED campaign in 2015. From 2013 to 2017 more than 1500 patients were consulted more than 500 children benefited from these services. It's campaign is to improve accessibility to high level care for affordable prices. In addition, the training and research inherent in these campaigns make it possible to train learners of public and private training institutions, strengthens the capacities of the Cameroonian team of HGOPY. We request multiform support from companies to get involved in the realization of these activities which benefit from excellent media coverage and supported by the public authorities.
The Gyneco-Obstetrics and Pediatric Hospital of Yaoundé is the fruit of Sino-Cameroonian cooperation, cooperation has been instituted in its managerial line as a lever to achieve its missions optimally.
