Low back pain is a major health problem that affects approximately 80% of Western populations. This back pain accounted for 13% of work-related accidents 10 years ago. It now accounts for 20% of these accidents. In 10% of cases, it persists, is transformed into chronic low back pain, and causes isolation both social and professional.
In response to this problem, Japet Medical Devices, a Lille-based start-up, has developed Atlas, an exoskeleton that relieves the pain of patients with chronic low back pain and accompanies them in their recovery.
